Archeology!

Here’s an insiders view. Our next lecture is on Tuesday, June 10th and will be given by Iris Liu. Iris graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2015 with a B.A.(Hons) in History and Archaeology of Greece, Rome and the Near East. She went on to graduate studies at the Department for the Study of Religion at the University of Toronto before pivoting to pursue a career in law. Iris's excavation experience includes several major sites in Israel dating to the Middle Bronze Age. This talk will cover some of the most important finds and artefacts discovered in Israel and Palestine, and a discussion about the ethics of archaeology in the region. From Old Testament to New Testament, we will explore ways in which archaeology has affected the way in which we understand the Bible, and which types of questions archaeology can and cannot answer. This talk will also be live-streamed at: https://youtube.com/live/bPLtzOLu00s
