September Study Group
SEPTEMBER STUDY GROUP
This September, the Adult Christian Formation ministry will be running a study group guided by Robert Alter's The Art of Hebrew Poetry. We will look at the structure, themes and conventions of Hebrew poetry through excerpts from the poetic books of the Old Testament including the Psalms, Job, and Ecclesiastes. Sessions will run weekly on Tuesdays at 6pm starting on Tuesday, September 2nd in the lounge. Purchase of the book is not needed; printouts will be provided. Life and Philosophy of St. Edith Stein
This final lecture on Monday June 23 is presented by Dr. Cole Sadler. Edith Stein was born in 1891 in Poland to a Jewish family and led an academic career in German philosophy before converting to Catholicism and joining the order of Discalced Carmelites. As a nun, she continued her philosophical writings with a focus on Christian spirituality until her martyrdom at Auschwitz in 1942. Zoom link on the Welcome page
