Adult Movie Night

MOVIE NIGHT - We are pleased to announce the first Adult Christian Formation Movie Night event, which will be held this Tuesday, November 11th at 6.00 pm in the lounge.  Pizza and drinks will be provided. We hope to hold movie nights several times a year featuring films which will spark thoughtful discussion on Christian themes. This week, we will be watching a film adaptation of the novel  Silence by Shusaku Endo, a Japanese Catholic author. Written in 1966,  Silence tells the story of Jesuit martyrs during the systematic persecution of Christians in 17th century Japan. The novel draws on Endo's own perspective as a member of a marginalized faith in Japan and explores the origins of the Japanese Kakure Kirishitan (or 'Hidden Christian') demographic. Please note that this film contains scenes of violence and viewer discretion is advised.
