Easter VI for Children & Youth - Jesus is leaving?!
Mother Johanna tells us how Jesus said he was going to leave, but that we wouldn't really be alone - but how can we know if the Holy Spirit is really there? (The disciples are so shocked they have trouble standing up, apparently!)
Organ Recital "in progress" - "Schmücke dich, o liebe Seele" (Johannes Brahms)
Andrew's online organ recital “in progress” continues! (This is his twentieth recording for this series!)
Schmücke dich, o liebe Seele by Johannes Brahms, played by Andrew Adair on the Salisbury Cathedral Hauptwerk sample set by Milan Digital Audio.
Schmücke dich, o liebe Seele is the fifth of Johannes Brahms's (1833-1897) 11 Chorale preludes. The set was written in 1896, and published posthumously in 1902.
Organ Recital "in progress" - "Cloister-garth" (Herbert Brewer)
Andrew's online organ recital “in progress” continues!
Cloister-garth by Herbert Brewer , played by Andrew Adair on the Salisbury Cathedral Hauptwerk sample set by Milan Digital Audio.
Sir Herbert Brewer (1865-1928) served as organist of Gloucester Cathedral from 1896 until his death, and was knighted in 1926. His Cloister-garth evokes the tranquillity of a monastic cloister.
Organ Recital "in progress" - "Schmücke dich, o liebe seele" (Johann Sebastian Bach)
Andrew's online organ recital “in progress” continues!
Schmücke dich, o liebe seele by Johann Sebastian Bach, played by Andrew Adair on the Salisbury Cathedral Hauptwerk sample set by Milan Digital Audio.
Johann Sebastian Bach’s (1685-1750) chorale Schmücke dich, o liebe seele (BWV 654) comes from the collection known as the Great eighteen chorales. Assembled by Bach during the last ten years of his life, the collection draws on works he composed during his time as court organist and Konzertmeister in Weimar (1708–1717).
Easter V - Jesus is the Way!
Mother Johanna helps us through one of Jesus's "I am" sayings. What does he mean when he says "I am the the Way, the Truth, and the Life"? And what does that have to do with Mother's Day?
